Great - we are coming down with man flu!
Loads of trainig and the last week has seen quite a few go down with the lurgy. I started sniffing on Monday and am now on to swigging beylin from a bottle with some paracetamol and antibiotic chasers for good measure. Ruth is getting through her own body weight in kleenex a day and several others are complaining of various nasty symptoms. Did anyone watch Spooks this week? ...... Lets hope the cure is found in time.

Only one month to go ...
Not long to go. We are frantically training but need more support for our causes. Any runners in the team who need a running vest pop in and see me.

8 miler over the weekend?
I want to try and run an 8 mile route sometime over the weekend, starting from Triton. The route will go down Festing Road, round canoe lake towards the common, across the common towards Old Portsmouth, up round the grammer school, past Gunwharf and towards American Bar, through the walk way to Broad Street, past Spice Island, up onto the Sea Wall, past Clarence Pier, along the Seafront to Eastney Swimming Pool, round Henderson Road and back to Triton! If you sign up to http://www.realbuzz.com/flmroutes/map.php, and search for PO4 9EY you will see the route (there are others saved under 'PO' too). Intended pace is 6.8 to 7 mph. If you fancy coming along let me or the shop know and we'll arrange a convenient time......it may be first thing in the morning (well before 11!) :-)
Training Runs
Ok everyone - we had the first "group" training session last night. A gentle 4 miler attended by myself, Ruth, Terry and Chris. So the plan for the next one is going to be 19 September. Meet at 6.30 at the dive centre. Nothing too serious and a couple of beers (it's ok, just carb loading) afterwards. Let me know if you are coming.

Training Run - Wednesday evenings
There is a plan to meet up for a training run on Wednesday evenings. Idea is to meet at the jolly sailo and take a nice gentle jog along the seafront ending up back at the pub to refresh the parts that need refreshing.

Hello Divers..and runners.
I completed the London Marathon yesterday in killer heat and can just about walk today. I would encourage anyone who fancies getting a bit fitter to have a go at the great south. The atmosphere on these big events is just fantastic and the sense of achievement is amazing whether you have just started running and the great south is your first big challenge or you have done something nutty like a marathon.
Whilst I didnt run the marthon on a charity place I have raised a few quid for shelter. If you would like to make a donation please mail me at cgambs@wannopfox.com

Training Blog
For the 5th year running we are going to be running the Great South run… And once again we are looking for club members to put their best foot forward and join us in this excellent event. Last year we raised a lot of money for the Lifeboats and we will be doing the same again this year. However, if you have your own charity that you want to raise money for please feel free. If you want to join in then there are still a few places left, just go to www.greatrun.org and register.
We have 9 entries already registered and including the "mystery lady". The race is 10 miles and the crowds carry you along whether you do it in 2 hours or 4. Some runners sprint the whole way around and some just walk so whatever your fitness levels you can have a go. We are planning to have a few practice runs throughout the summer as well as a few other things going on to build up a "team" spirit. So come and have go! You will love it.
Rumour has it that part of the "mystery lady's" training regime is to compete in the Tesco Race for Life. This is a 5 km ladies run on June 3rd on the common and aims to rasie money for Cancer Research. Does anyone else fancy joining in?
